Battle Creek Park is the same location as last year.  There's lots of room for everyone to have fun, relax, and enjoy the company of hundreds of greyhounds....and people!  There is lots of free parking and an enormous open-air pavilion to shelter us from the rain or sun.  In addition, the vendors and The Gilley Girls have beautiful grassy areas to show off their stuff!  It's a great location for a great picnic.

Here’s how to get there......from 494/694 go west on I-94, then go south on McKnight Road.  Turn left on Upper Afton Road.  That's it!  We’ll put out a few signs in case you need ‘em!

Northern Lights has located a couple of dog-friendly hotel/motels near the picnic site. If you’re coming in from out of town with your ‘guest of honor’, give one of these properties a call.  We'll see you at the Picnic!

Food ~ Games ~ Contests ~ Musical Mats are back!  Join in the fun with your Greyhound as you circle the mats to the music of Tim Anderson.  Other fun contests for you and your hounds are also planned including the ever-popular Costume Contest, where the competition is stiff and imaginations run wild!  Put together your funniest, cutest, or craziest greyhound costume and take center stage for the judging.  The audience will be the judges.  Dress to impress!

The Gilley Girls Dancing Greyhounds ~ Taking center ring at the NLGA 10th Annual Picnic will be the world-famous Gilley Girls Dancing Greyhound Comedy Review.  The Gilley Girls will perform one spectacular show, with the encouragement of Kathleen and "Gil" Gilley, at 2:00 PM on the grassy stage.  You have to see 'em to believe 'em.  Can your greyhounds dance, jump, leap, retrieve, hop, and speak?  Well the Gilley Girls can, and more!  See the Gilley Girls attempt a greyhound world record five-dog leap into the air!  Don't miss the fun of the Gilley Girls Dancing Greyhound Comedy Review!

Lots of Shopping! ~ One of the most anticipated activities at the NLGA Annual Picnic is shopping!  This year will be no exception!  We have put together a group of vendors who promise to have all of the latest in greyhoundwear and peoplewear.  This is also your chance to refresh your NLGA wardrobe and add new items to it.  You'll also be able to stock up on every greyhound related essential, including art, jewelry, books, the 2008 Celebrating Greyhounds calendar, and more.
