pawRodger Barr, DVM   PresidentRodger Barr

I have been a Board member since its inception in 1996.

I saw my first greyhound in 1975 while doing an internship at CSU.  I adopted my first in 1975 also.  I have owned many greyhounds over the years and currently have four residing at home:  Bubba, Sophie, Whoopie and Penny Punch.

I am an enthusiastic passionate student of Bar B Que.  My current (and likely forever) favorite is the Big Green Egg.  I love to discuss the egg and its virtues.

I have been a Board Member since 1996  and was present for the very first meeting of NLGA.

I've owned multiple greyhounds since 1993 including Miss Mallory pictured here. Professionally, I'm an advertising agency owner.  Away from the office I enjoy great foods and wine.

pawJennifer Rolf, Treasurer

My love with the greyhound began in 2003. Over the next few years I would meet and fall in love with two hounds, Freeto and Carma, whom at first meeting jump upon me with a smile and a lick to the face. YUCK! “I’ll tak’em.” The rest is history and I have been involved with NLGA ever since.

I started as a dog walker to the hounds at the clinic, fostering, volunteering at various events, assisting with event planning and coordination, hosting a meet and greet.  I have been a member on the NLGA board of directors for several years. Fall of 2012 I became the NLGA Treasurer.

Professionally, you will find me amongst the hustle and bustle of downtown Minneapolis where I earn a living within the financial institution, Wells Fargo.

Personally, I love adventure and the smell of nature. You’ll find me on my bike, hiking through the woods exploring the backwaters of the Mississippi river. I am also an avid music lover and can be found around town checking out the local music scene with my sister.

Wet nose kisses to you from my Freeto and Carma.

I was thrilled to joined the Board in 2010.  I am currently the Secretary, Meet and Greet Coordinator and Loose Hound Search Coordinator.

My passion is spreading the word about how greyhounds make wonderful pets. I love showing off my hounds and usually bring a couple to work with me at the nursing home.  I got my first hound, Sparks, Halloween weekend in October 2002, Passion followed 1.5 years later. In 2008 Lucky joined the pack, Diamond in 2009 and Lena was my Christmas present in 2010.

In my free time, I love to garden, read, cook and snuggle with my hounds.

I have been on the Board since 1996.

I adopted my first greyhound Katurah in 1977, and I have been involved with greyhound adoption ever since. Katurah was the very first racing greyhound to become a pet in Minnesota. Every greyhound we have placed over the years I have done in honor of her. I have adopted numerous greyhounds over the years.  I currently share my home with four fabulous greyhounds-Sophie, Whoopie, Miss Penny Punch, and "a little slice" named Heaven.

I love to spend time with family and friends.  I enjoy cooking, gardening, and travel.  I am hoping to finish my last gemology class and become a certified gemologist., but life seems to get in the way.....

pawJoelle Riley

I joined the Board in 2007.

I adopted my first greyhound in 2000.  I have had three greyhounds and currently live with Brewski.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and came to the Twin Cities to attend the U of MN. I enjoy reading, logic puzzles, doing counted cross stitch and stained glass, and spending time with greyhounds and their people.

In 2002 when I decided that I wanted a purebred dog, I methodically considered my priorities:  No known genetic defects, a short, no-shed coat, and a large,
non-aggressive dog for walking.  Today I am blessed to share my space with three of these elegant, graceful hounds.

As a member of Northern Lights Greyhound Adoption, I volunteered my time and energy in several capacities.  I have hosted Meet and Greet events, facilitated the transition from kennel to the couch for multiple hounds, made donation items for NLGA, and solicited Donations for fundraising events.  In October of 2011, I was honored to be asked to join NLGA’s Board of Directors.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my hounds, cooking and sharing food and adult beverages with my friends, music, and creating unique donation items for NLGA and my hounds.

I just recently joined the Board, but I have been involved by fostering and helping at the picnic.  I fell in love with these wonderful animals after meeting a two greyhounds at a meet and greet.

Sadie was my first greyhound, adopted in 2009 and Kordell came shortly after.  Sadie passed away in April of 2012 and it took 2 to take her place; Conner and Wildfire.

To support my greyhound habit, I work for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking the hounds, and various crafts.

pawStacie Blaskowski

I joined the Board in 2012.

I meet my first greyhound at a meet & greet in 2004. We adopted our first greyhound, Killian,
in 2007.  Sweet little Encore joined us at age 11.5 in 2009. And Encore’s grandson, Max, joined
us at the end of 2012.

We attend lots of meet & greet, host a meet & greet, have fostered, participate in many NLGA
activities, and enjoy spending time with our greyhound friends.

I like commuting to work on my bicycle, going on long distance bicycle rides, learning,
and volunteering.
